Temptation Tuesdays: Sports & Sentiments Galore!

She's the Queen of the World!!!!

In keeping with yesterday's nautical theme, here's the right hand side of the double page layout from our discovery of Vancouver's Waterfront Station area near their Canada Place Convention Centre.

Again, I've used the Nautical Expressions DSP Download (item# 124111) and the Basic Grey Bakers Twine from the Add On Download (item# 127695) but I also added the boat from the Nursery Alphabet Images Stamp Brush Set Download (item# 124464).  The font is one of my favourite freebies from the internet called "Pass the Chex".

My favourite thing about the Nursery Alphabet Images Digital Stamps is that they all have areas you can "see through" so it's fun to put coloured punches or in this case photos in behind and they show through the stamp.  Pretty cute, eh?

Ahoy, Matey!

Well, it took me longer than expected but I've got another scrapbook page from our trip to British Columbia ready to go.  I used a page of designer series paper from the Nautical Expressions DSP Download (item# 124111), added a wee bit of grey Baker's Twine from the Add-On Download (item# 127695) and a frame from the recent Frame It Stamp Brush Set Download (item# 127358).  The font is a free font from the internet called "Rage".

Temptation Tuesdays: Flower Power!

Hello everyone!

It's that time again...Stampin' Up! has released 6 NEW My Digital Studio downloads today!  There's an adorable stamp set of cartoon-ish little critters called Furry Folk and the other 5 downloads are all related to flowers.  I'm thrilled that the Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper is now available.  It's one of my favourites!

We Have Arrived!...

The anticipation and excitement of getting to your destination always makes the trip seem 10 times longer than it really is.  We had about 8 hours of travel time which included 2 flights and a 2 hour layover in small-town airport with no amenities (NOT impressed!), however, all of this effort disappears when you arrive and discover that your accommodations are just as nice as you'd hoped they would be.

Here's a 2 page spread of the condo we rented for the 6 of us using the Noteworthy Digital Kit available as a Hostess item only.  Do you want your own copy of this digital kit?  Book a workshop with a few of your friends or family and if the party's sales reach $200 you get $35 Hostess Reward dollars to spend on Hostess items or anything else in the catalogues.  That's more than enough to purchase this Digital Kit and other items, too!

A Happy Surprise!

Sometimes when you're "crafting" you have specific plans for a specific project and you putter away at executing that plan.  Other times (like today), you sit down at your work surface (desk, couch, kitchen table, etc) and "fake it 'till you make it".

Today's scrapbook page was one of those unexpected happy surprises!  I hope you like it as much as I do.

All I knew when I started this page was that I wanted to use this picture.  I tried it as a full size 12 x 12 image but couldn't decide what to place or embellish on top of it.  Then I tried putting it on the bottom half of the page.   It still didn't "grab" me.  I ended up with it on the right but had a hard time choosing a background colour.  Then (this was my aha! moment) I remembered about the "color picker" feature in Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio.  It allows you to colour-match components to something else on the page.  This was the key to my success!  The next thing I knew I had reshaped several square punch shapes into a grid pattern, added a "torn edge" stamp to soften the transition, found a decorative edge stamp for the bottom and trolled through my fonts for something with a similar "feel".

Voila!  A happy surprise (in a matter of 30 minutes)!

Let The Scrapbooking Begin...

Good evening everyone!  It was a stormy day today in London, Ontario but despite the gloomy conditions and being at work all day...all I could think about was starting to scrapbook our recent trip to Vancouver.

It was one of those evenings where we were out running errands but I still managed to squeak in a little MDS (My Digital Studio) time to make the cover page for what will soon be a full scrapbooking album of our trip.

The main element on this page (the faded "rays" in the background) were inspired by a gorgeous page created recently by Heather Summers which can be found HERE.

Additionally, I used the Timeless Type Junior Letter & Number Punches (item# 127168) and filled them with Designer Series Paper Patterns from the Urban Oasis (item# 126042) and Elegant Soiree (item# 121433) downloads.  All of these downloads are available at my website, www.loricampbell.stampinup.net.

Temptation Tuesdays x 3!!

I'm back!! Mackenzie and I got home safely from 10 glorious days in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and I feel refreshed. I've got the nearly 3000 pictures that we took loaded onto my computer (my brother Darryl, Mackenzie and I were all taking pictures) and now I can get started scrapbooking those pictures in..................My Digital Studio!!
